The ranger Orsos was one of the legendary Knights of Cydonia. Many tales are told of his exploits with the Knights, but the most common portray him as a committed champion of justice and a skilled hunter and tracker. Orsos’s sense of justice was so fierce, when presented with evidence of wrongdoing, he would relentlessly pursue the criminal regardless of social status, government position, wealth or influence. Most times he would bring common criminals to justice, but the most popular stories are of him taking on corrupt leaders and heads of state.
Acratan’s Glory is an intelligent item that carries on the legacy of Orsos and the Knights of Cydonia. It compels it’s wielder to pursue the cause of justice and right wrongs, no matter who committed them.
If the wielder swears an oath to the bow to carry on the legacy of the Knights of Cydonia, the bow grants the power to track down any foe. If the wielder is a ranger, they can designate one person and gain their ranger bonuses to Bluff, Knowledge, Perception, Sense Motive, and Survival checks as though that person were their favored enemy, regardless of the person’s actual race or class. Likewise, they get a +2 bonus on weapon attack and damage rolls against them, and may make Knowledge skill checks untrained when attempting to track them. If the wielder breaks their oath, the shield vanishes from their possession, and will never be found by them again.
